Health and safety are fundamental human needs that play a crucial role in preventing work-related injuries and illnesses. This study evaluates the current state of occupational safety and health (OSH) practices in the paint manufacturing industry in Khartoum State, Sudan, with a focus on identifying gaps and areas for improvement. A cross-sectional study was conducted among 120 workers in 6 paint industries, using a structured questionnaire to collect data on OSH practices, training, and personal protective equipment (PPE) use. The findings reveal significant gaps in OSH implementation, including inadequate training (43%), limited commitment (58%), and high accident rates (53%). The study emphasizes the importance of effective safety measures, regulatory compliance, and best practices in minimizing occupational hazards. The results of this study can inform policy and practice aimed at improving OSH in the paint industry.
