The FMEA methodology has been progressively adopted in recent years by organizations across various industrial sectors with the aim of strengthening their competitiveness in an increasingly demanding environment. Complementarily, companies have incorporated Lean Manufacturing tools, such as the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) indicator, which leads to significant improvements in operational efficiency. This article presents the adaptation of these methodologies and their application in a sector of great impact both in Mexico and worldwide, the plastic injection molding industry, with the purpose of reducing scrap.
